Attractions.io, a leading creator of mobile visitor apps, has collaborated with hospitality technology company Cinchio Solutions to launch mobile apps at leading North American attractions; Detroit Zoo, Brookfield Zoo Chicago, and Toronto Zoo.
They join an impressive portfolio of zoos and wildlife institutions using the Attractions.io mobile app platform, which provides visitors with a connected digital experience that fosters education, encourages return visits, and boosts membership sales.
The SaaS platform recently joined forces with Cinchio Solutions to provide further assistance to the North American market. The launch of new mobile app platforms at Detroit Zoo, Brookfield Zoo in Chicago, and Toronto Zoo ahead of the summer season demonstrates the success of this partnership.
Successful collaboration
These cutting-edge smartphone apps are set to simplify operations while improving visitor engagement and satisfaction. They connect every touchpoint visitors experience at the zoo, catering to their ever-evolving demands. This ensures guests always have access to vital information, interactive maps, real-time updates, and customised recommendations for their visit.
Ted Ismert, COO of Attractions.io, says: “Our partnership with Cinchio is helping us generate smiles for millions more zoo-going guests across North America. Our goal is to empower operators to enrich their experiences, drive revenue, and ultimately, aid their conservation and education missions. We’re using the mobile app platform to create meaningful connections between guests, animals, and the conservation work these zoos champion. We can’t wait to see the impact these new mobile apps will have on guests in Michigan, Chicago, and Toronto.”
The new mobile apps feature:
- Educational content. Info cards include information about each animal’s habitat, behaviour, and conservation initiatives, helping visitors connect more deeply with the zoo’s mission.
- Interactive maps. Guests can find their favourite animals, restaurants, restrooms, and other facilities using easy-to-navigate maps.
- Real-time updates. Visitors are kept informed thanks to instant notifications about feeding times, events, and exhibit closures.
- Personalised experiences. Personalised itineraries and recommendations cater to guests’ preferences and interests, which can lead to increased expenditure.
Katie Back, associate vice president of marketing at Brookfield Zoo Chicago, says: “Our goal for the app was to make planning and navigating your zoo day easier and more enjoyable than ever before. Whether you’re a first-timer or a frequent guest, it has features that enhance your experience from start to finish.”
Dolf DeJong, CEO, Toronto Zoo, adds: “We are always looking for ways to deepen our connections with guests and make their visit memorable and impactful. The app has been designed to connect people, animals and conservation science through the digital world and encourage them to explore and protect wild spaces and wild species.”
Furthermore, visitors to the Detroit Zoo can also take advantage of a connected app experience that blends Cinchio’s mobile meal ordering service with the Attractions.io platform.
The Cinchio team’s localised support and specialised US account management have been key to the partnership’s success. Cinchio Solutions was founded by SSA Group, which has more than 50 years of experience supporting cultural institutions. Cinchio draws on this expertise to tailor the Attractions.io solution to meet the needs of each operator’s specific guest demographics. It identifies guest and operator pain points to provide tailored solutions for each organisation.
Ben Dunton, managing director of Cinchio Solutions, explains: “Leveraging our expertise in retail, dining, and data insights, combined with Attractions.io’s cutting-edge mobile app technology, we provide a holistic solution tailored specifically for attractions operators. Our collaboration ensures we meet the unique needs of attractions management while delivering an unparalleled guest experience.”
Last week, the first judges were revealed for the 2024 blooloop Innovation Awards, presented with AREA15. Mark Locker, Attractions.io’s founder & CEO, will be among the global industry experts and thought leaders judging this year’s awards.
